Doll Art for the Soul and the Play

With handcrafted dolls we give our children lovely companions for their lives. Dolls are images of humans and that is what makes them so precious. While playing with their dolls children are looking for their own selves. With their rich fantasy and empathy they ensoul the dolls and give them life. When they care for them lovingly, shepherd and nourish them compassionately, our children mainly mother themselves. So with the dolls they learn self-love and care. And these are competences that are of vital importance on their way to healthy adults. Who loves oneself is able to connect with others in freedom.

I am happy to be a professional doll maker and work with my golden hands every day. In my Mariengold studio I create handcrafted, natural fiber dolls according to waldorf pedagogy for children of all ages. I appreciate natural and pure materials and the rich and lively spectrum of plant dyes.

When manufacturing a doll I dedicate much love and mindfulness. Thereby I follow my heart and my intuitive sense of beauty. My dolls are made with love as a balm for the heart and soul.

My work is focused on the connection between doll making, healing and spirituality.

I believe in the basic importance and nourishing power of handcrafted dolls. They help our children to evolve love and care for other humans and creatures and – even more important – for themselves. Dolls are trusty companions and loving playmates for our children. It is a great pleasure to create these little friends and to know that they are valued by families around the world.

Working with my hands is good for my soul and accompanies me since my early childhood. After I graduated from High School I studied Social and Business Communication at the Berlin University of Arts and completed with my diploma. Being surrounded by artists of various fields I found out that I wanted to work with my hands and create original works not only as an expression of creativity but also as a polical statement against mass production, mechanization and speedup of daily life. When my daughter was born at the end of my study period and I became familiar with Waldorf Pedagogy, I decided to create precious dolls for children.

I was born on 24th july in 1980. With my daughter and my husband I live in a green and calm district in Berlin close to a forest with beautiful lakes. I find inspiration in the love for my friends and family, the energy of speech and words, colours, gold, music, light and dark, mythology and folklore, fairy tales and stories, Scandinavia and the Alpine country, traditional handcraft, walks and the simple life in harmony with nature.

How to buy a Mariengold Doll

If you want to buy a Mariengold doll you are invited to place a custom order. Let me know your wishes such as size of the doll, colour and style of the hair, colour of the eyes, clothes and prefered colours for the clothes. You can also choose a doll from my portfolio as the basis for your doll. If you don’t have particular ideas I will follow my intuition and sense of beauty.

Prices for Dolls and Doll Clothing

The prices for my dolls include an outfit of your wishes consisting of four or five pieces of clothing inclusive shoes, but without cardigan. The baby dolls come with diapers.

The price for an extra outfit depends on the size of your doll and your wishes. A set of clothes with four to five pieces for a 16 inch / 40 cm doll costs around 60 Euro (approx. 78 USD).

The price for worldwide shipping from Germany for registered parcels depends on the weight and is 10 or 20 Euro (approx. 13 or 26 USD).
